House De Vicq (1670, renovated in 1730)

House De Vicq, Herengracht 476, is an example of a 17th-century double house with 18th-century elements. The imposing pilaster gable with festoons dates from 1670, but the attic above the cornice and the double doorstep date from 1730.The attic consists of a balustrade with statues of Mercury and Venus and an eagle. If you think the De Vicq House has a beautiful doorstep, take a look at the double doorstep of Herengracht 480. This is one of the few doorsteps in Amsterdam with so-called harp scrolls.
